About Geirangerfjord Cruises

An independent comparison of the boats and tours that run on and around the Geirangerfjord in western Norway. We compare tour listings, official visitor information and recent traveller feedback. We do not operate or personally conduct these tours, hold no bookings and run no boats. The tours sit on the Geirangerfjord cruise comparison, and the sources behind every number are set out in our editorial methodology.

Why this site exists

Search for this fjord and you get two kinds of pages: operators selling their own single boat, and ocean-cruise lines whose Geiranger page is really about a cabin from $892. Neither answers the question a visitor standing on the quay actually has, which is what the difference is between the $57.64 catamaran, the $93.80 RIB and the $79.65 RIB, and whether any of them beats the ferry.

The answers sit scattered across nine listings, a ferry timetable and a few thousand reviews. Putting them side by side is the entire job of this site.

Where the facts come from

Tour prices, durations, ratings, review counts, inclusions and restrictions are read off each operator's own listing on the date shown on the page, in US dollars. Every tour page carries the same fields in the same order. Tour listing checked: August 2026.

Fjord facts, local boat schedules and ticket prices are checked against official tourism information for the Geiranger area and recent first-hand visitor reports, and dated where they appear. Local boat prices verified against official tourism information and recent visitor reports: August 2026. Traveller feedback reviewed: more than 6,500 verified reviews.

Where a listing admits something inconvenient in its own words, such as the bus tour's warning that the Dalsnibba stop is skipped when the summit road is closed, we quote it rather than smooth it over. Review quotes carry the reviewer's name, country and month exactly as published. We do not write testimonials.

What we do not do

We do not ride the boats, meet the guides or audit safety records. Judging whether a RIB departure should run in a given swell is the skipper's call, not a website's.

We also do not take your booking. Every Check Availability button sends you to the platform the operator sells on, where the price, the terms and the cancellation window are theirs.

How the site pays for itself

Links to tours on this site are affiliate links. If you book through one, the platform pays us a commission and you pay the same price you would pay going there directly.

That arrangement pays for the research and nothing else. It does not decide which tours appear, what order they sit in, or what we say about them. The cheapest boat on the homepage earns us the least, and it opens the comparison table.

Corrections

Norwegian prices move, timetables reset every season and roads close with the weather. If something here is out of date, write to us and tell us what you found and when you were there. We would rather fix a number than defend it.
